چکیده

We propose the multicarrier on–off keying (MC-OOK) as a bandwidth-efficient modulation method for frequency-hopped multiple-access (FHMA) communications. The motivation for using MC-OOK is that a more bandwidth-efficient modulation scheme allows a larger number of frequency slots, and thus provides a higher immunity against multiple-access interference in FHMA systems. We analyze the average bit-error probability in slow frequency-nonselective Rayleigh fading channels with background noise. We find that the capacity gain that MC-OOK/FHMA system provides over MFSK/FHMA system in an interference-limited region is more than 2.5 when the modulation alphabet sizeM is 8, and even a higher capacity gain can be obtained with a largerM .

Frequency-hopped multiple-access communication with nonorthogonal BFSK in Rayleigh fading channels

A nonorthogonal binary frequency-shift keying is considered in frequency-hopped multiple-access communication systems with Reed–Solomon coding. The effect of tone spacing on the average number of successfully transmitted information bits per unit time per unit bandwidth (called normalized throughput) is examined in Rayleigh fading channels. The tradeoff among tone spacing, code rate, and number...

Frequency-hopped multiple-access communications with noncoherent M-ary OFDM-ASK

A noncoherent, bandwidth-efficient modulation scheme is proposed for frequency-hopping multiple-access (FH-MA) networks. The proposed scheme is a combination of noncoherent -ary amplitude-shift keying (NMASK) and orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM). Using this scheme will minimize the required data bandwidth. The number of frequency slots available to the users will increase signi...

Performance Analysis of Mc-cdma and Ofdm in Wireless Rayleigh Channel

Recent advances in wireless communications have made use of MC-CDMA and OFDM techniques to allow for high data rate transmission. Rapid time variations of the wireless communication channel have a effect on the performance of multicarrier modulation. In this paper, we emphasis the Doppler spread and Computes its effect on the bit error rate (BER) for multicarrier code division multiple access (...

Bit Error Performance for Asynchronous Ds Cdma Systems Over Multipath Rayleigh Fading Channels (RESEARCH NOTE)

In recent years, there has been considerable interest in the use of CDMA in mobile communications. Bit error rate is one of the most important parameters in the evaluation of CDMA systems. In this paper, we develop a technique to find an accurate approximation to the probability of bit error for asynchronous direct–sequence code division multiple–access (DS/CDMA) systems by modeling the multipl...

Dual-Tone MFSK for Frequency-Hopped Spread-Spectrum Multiple Access Communications

This paper investigates a dual-tone MFSK signalling technique for a frequency-hopped spread-spectrum communication system. It allows for multiple access communications with less transmission bandwidth and thus greater number of users than conventional MFSK. Both uncoded and coded dual-tone MFSK systems are considered in multiple access interference and additive white Gaussian noise with and wit...
